et us sit or kneel as we are able… Creator who brooded over the waters and set the boundaries of the sea…you called forth green growing things and provided breath and bone to the ancestors of all who live…

Incarnate Word – our Mother’s milk, true bread of heaven, fullness of God, you fill our lives…

Spirit of Wisdom you dance before us with holy laughter…you birth us out of the water of baptism and place us in the arms of the Church…

God thrice holy, perfect in unity, receive our prayers for the Church, the world, and all who are in need. Lord in your mercy:

O Lord, hear our prayer and listen to our crying for all who are broken in body, mind or spirit. For those who suffer from addiction or live in fear; for those whose bodies grow old and weary; for those who suffer pain, Lord have mercy!

O Lord, hear our prayer and listen to our crying for the people in Colorado who watch as wildfires rage; for the people of New Zealand as the ground shakes; for the people of Pakistan, whose homes lie beneath the flood and mud; for the people of New Orleans and Haiti, who are still rebuilding, Lord have mercy!

O Lord, hear our prayer and listen to our crying for those who feel beaten down and dispossessed. For those who seek a right of return and redress; for those who live on battlefields; for those whose homes are filled with anger and abuse, Lord have mercy!

O Lord, hear our prayer and listen to our crying for all who see the world through tears; whose longing for a touch, a word, the familiar scent, fills every hour. For all whose hearts are broken, Lord have mercy!

O Lord, hear our prayer and listen to our crying for all who work long hours to tend the wounds of others. For counselors and doctors, for nurses and orderlies, for nutritionists and researchers, blessed are you, O Lord, and worthy of all praise!
