Lent

In good Lutheran fashion, let us ask "What does this mean?

Lent is the 40-day period beginning on Ash Wednesday when the Church considers Jesus path to the cross. During this time, we consider how Jesus chose to be one with us, even to the point of dying. Lent is also very much a baptismal season. We are reminded of our baptism into Jesus' death and resurrection, and traditionally the 40-days are a time of instruction for those preparing for baptism, or renewal of baptismal vows at confirmation.
